Every listing is proven by its VIN
A VIN isn’t optional here, and any 17 characters won’t do. It has to be valid, it has to belong to that exact model, and it has to be unique on VINlist. The specs You see — make, model, year, engine, transmission — are generated strictly from the VIN, never typed in by an incompetent seller in a hurry. And because each VIN backs exactly one listing, a dodgy seller can’t flood the site with fake ads for the same car, nor pass off several different cars under a single VIN.
Our own decoder, answerable to no one
VINlist decodes every VIN with its own in-house engine — not a metered third-party API billed per lookup. That independence is the point: it means we are both committed and capable of verifying every car listed here, with no outside service to throttle us, break the site, or hike prices overnight. You can keep listing Your cars knowing the ground won’t shift under You.
